Cloncurry, informally known as 'The Curry', is a rural town and the administrative centre of the Shire of Cloncurry in north-west Queensland. It is situated 770 kilometres west of Townsville, adjacent to the Cloncurry River. The town is known as the 'Friendly Heart of the Great North West' and has won Queensland's Friendliest Town award twice (2013, 2018). Cattle grazing is a significant industry in the region.
