Broken Hill is an inland mining city located in the far west region of outback New South Wales, Australia. Affectionately known as the 'Silver City', it holds significant prominence in Australia's mining, industrial relations, and economic history due to the discovery of silver-lead-zinc ore. Despite a population decline since the 1950s, it remains Australia's longest-running mining town and was listed on the National Heritage List in 2015. It has also served as an inspiration and filming location for various artists and movies, including 'Mad Max' and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'. [2, 6, 15]
